For Kaysy and Brian’s engagement photoshoot, we met up at one of Kaysy’s favourite places: her aunt’s home in the Quebec countryside, about an hour’s drive from Montreal. For her, this spot holds so many good memories, including that one little time when Brian proposed!
They showed me the spot in the woods where Brian asked the question, and we took some quiet portraits there surrounded by greenery. What a special way to preserve the memory of their proposal!
Every couple is different and shows affection in different ways. As I discovered when shooting them, Kaysy and Brian are rarely serious! They are cute and silly with one another in a way that pokes fun at poses that are too romantic and cheesy. I loved their irreverent style and had a good time capturing their personalities.
We also took natural portraits throughout the gardens of this private home, and even braved the mosquitoes and the slippery rocks to take some adventure-style photos in the creek that runs through their back yard. I can’t believe how gutsy Brian and Kaysy were! Walking barefoot in the cold creek water!
To add another personal touch to their engagement photoshoot, we ended up taking some candid action photos of Kaysy and Brian tossing a frisbee around. They are both athletes and enjoy playing in an ultimate frisbee league together. While the portraits where they are dressed in fancier outfits are lovely, these relaxed, playful ones show their more natural sides.
If you enjoyed this style of relaxed engagement photography and you’d like to do a beautiful couples photoshoot, please send me a quick message and I’ll get back to you with more info.
