Couple kissing at night with large-bulb christmas lights

Winter engagement photos at Lac aux Castors

Winter’s back early this year in Montreal! And I’m not complaining. I love the first months of winter, when snow is still exciting and new. We all get to wear cute scarves and mittens. If any winter-haters out there want me to join in on grumbling, talk to me again in February. For now, I’m delighted with snow and hot chocolate and knitting and Christmas lights.

Did you know they call ’em fairy lights in the UK? So kewt.

In the spirit of winter, I’m sharing Lauren and Mike’s adorable winter engagement photos. I’m so happy they were brave enough to head out in the cold for their photos…

Winter engagement photos at Lac-aux-Castors

For their photo session, we went up on Mount-Royal, where to our surprise the trees were freshly coated in frost. We took some skating photos on Beaver Lake, then we continued with some shots in the deep snow. Tramping through the snow was so exhausting, but so much fun. I felt like a kid again! When it grew dark, the trees near the lake were lit with beautiful globe lights. Magical!
