03 Mar Winter wedding at Auberge St-Gabriel
Alaina and Ryan were married on a winter’s day that couldn’t have been cuter. Fluffy snowflakes make any occasion joyous, right?
Wedding ceremony at Loyola Chapel
Their wedding ceremony took place in Concordia University’s Loyola Chapel, a lovely large room that somehow feels homey. It was an intimate wedding with some good old-fashioned hymn-singing, heart-felt vows and family and friends to witness. And it felt true to both Alaina and Ryan’s personalities.
Auberge Saint-Gabriel wedding reception
Then everyone headed to the wedding reception at Auberge St-Gabriel in Old Montreal. Grenier Hall, a lofty attic venue, was decorated with twinkling fairy lights and there was a fire in the fireplace. The wedding reception was celebrated in the company of friends near and far (yay for Skype!). Alaina and Ryan danced their first dance while their friend played the guitar. Kids made crafts and spun in circles on the dance floor, friends and parents gave speeches with just the right mix of humour and sincere best wishes, and everyone danced to their handpicked playlist. In short, a good time was had by all.
Alaina is a friend of mine, so I was honoured and delighted to take her and Ryan’s wedding photos. Here are a few favourites images from this wedding at Auberge Saint-Gabriel:
